About Us
Our archives collect, professionally organise, preserve, and make available the documents of lasting value of the Széchenyi István University and its predecessor institutions, as well as the personal legacies of the university's lecturers and prominent representatives and the historical documents of the professions taught at the university. The establishment of the archives was approved by the Senate of Széchenyi István University on 16 December 2019, and the Ministry of Human Resources approved its operation on 26 June 2020.
Mission Statement
The main objective of the University Library and Archives is to keep pace with the development of modern technology and to meet the information needs of students, teaching and research staff. We are committed to preserving the values of the past and recalling the centuries-old history of higher education in Győr and the two-hundred-year history of agricultural education in Mosonmagyaróvár,.
Slogan: "We are preserving the past for the future. Now."
Operations
Tasks
The basic task of the archives is to receive, preserve, process, and provide services for archival and permanent documents of the Széchenyi István University and its predecessor institutions. This includes the census of documents of permanent value generated by the organisational units and the control of records management.
Future Plan / Vision
We aim for the full digitisation of archival processes by developing a modern information technology infrastructure. This includes digitising minutes of board meetings, student registers, yearbooks, and diploma registers to make them available in electronic form.

Archives' Resources
In addition to specialised archival tasks, we collect legacy records of persons connected with the University, images and sound recordings of important events, and material sources relating to institutional history - mainly only in Hungarian.
