Collection Scope
This collection contains doctoral dissertations and thesis booklets successfully defended at SZE. Doctoral education at the University is coordinated by the Doctoral and Habilitation Center. The collection includes PhD theses submitted to and prepared within the following doctoral schools:

• Doctoral School of Law and Political Sciences (ÁJDI)
• Doctoral School of Regional- and Business Administration Sciences (RGDI)
• Doctoral School of Multidisciplinary Engineering Sciences (MMTDI)
• Wittmann Antal Multidisciplinary Doctoral School of Plant, Animal and Food Sciences (WAMDI)

Submission Process
Documents are uploaded to the repository by the staff of ULA.

Access
The metadata and full texts of PhD theses are freely accessible. Exceptions include classified or closed-defense dissertations approved by the University Doctoral Council (EDT), as well as theses whose publication has been embargoed at the request of the doctoral candidate for a maximum period of two years following the defense (see the University Doctoral Regulations).

Theses and Final Papers

Collection Scope
This collection contains successfully defended online bachelor’s (BA/BSc), master’s (MA/MSc), and postgraduate specialization theses submitted at SZE after 2015.

The collection includes final papers submitted to the following faculties of the University:

• Albert Kázmér Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences (AKMK)
• Apáczai Csere János Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (APHTK)
• Audi Hungaria Faculty of Engineering (AHJK)
• Deák Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Sciences (DFK)
• Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences (ESK)
• Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Transport Sciences (ÉÉKK)
• Faculty of Informatics and Electrical Engineering (IVK)
• Kautz Gyula Faculty of Business and Economics (KGK)
• Faculty of Design and Performance Arts (MUK)

Submission Process
Theses are uploaded to the repository by the staff of ULA from the Diploma Submission interface used by students, at the end of each semester following the conclusion of the final examination period.

Access
The metadata of theses stored in the repository (author, title, length, keywords, etc.) are publicly accessible, with the exception of classified theses.

Theses submitted before 31 December 2022 are available with restricted access and may only be consulted on designated computers within the Library.

In accordance with Section 50 (6) of the Hungarian National Higher Education Act and under the conditions specified in Section 78/A (4) of the Study and Examination Regulations of Széchenyi István University, PhD theses and theses submitted after 1 January 2023 are freely accessible.

Publications

Scope of the Collection

The Scientific Publications collection is open to authors registered in the Hungarian Scientific Bibliography Database (MTMT) with an institutional affiliation to Széchenyi István University. Eligible authors may upload their scientific publications that have already been published and recorded in MTMT.

SZERep is a full-text repository; therefore, only uploads containing the full text of publications are accepted. The following materials are not accepted in this collection:

• abstracts;
• publications classified in MTMT as “Other”, “Unclassified”, or “Unclassified-type” documents;
• PhD dissertations submitted to doctoral schools (these should be archived in the SZERep – PhD Theses collection).

Publications are processed at the article level. In the case of edited volumes, authors are required to upload the specific standalone chapter or study authored by them, rather than the complete publication.

The following document versions may be deposited in the repository:

• Preprint / Submitted version (manuscript): the manuscript submitted to a journal prior to the peer-review process.
• Postprint / Accepted version (author’s post-print): the content-final version accepted after peer review, but before the publisher’s layout and formatting.
• Publisher’s version / Published version (publisher PDF, VoR – Version of Record): the final officially published document, formatted and paginated by the publisher.

If the published version cannot be archived publicly, uploading the postprint version of the publication is recommended. The preprint version of a published article may only be uploaded if the publisher’s archiving policy does not permit the deposit of any other version. In such cases, the preprint document must clearly indicate the full bibliographic details of the published article.

Upload Procedure

• The upload process can be initiated after logging into the MTMT database.

• Select the publication you wish to upload to the repository.
• Mark the record and choose the Actions / Upload to repository menu item.
• In the Upload file section, browse and select the PDF version of the publication from your computer. Please ensure that the file name indicates the document type in English, according to the examples below.

Accepted file names:

• Article.pdf (for journal articles)
• Chapter.pdf (for book chapters or studies)
• Book.pdf (for monographs)
• Conference_paper.pdf (for conference papers)

• Select SZERep from the repository list.
  (SZERep can only be selected if the record includes at least one author whose MTMT author profile is associated with at least one organizational unit of Széchenyi István University.)
• Specify the OA (Open Access) type of the attached publication and, if necessary, provide embargo information. (MTMT guide)
• In the Comments field, indicate the version of the attached document (preprint / postprint / publisher PDF).
• Finally, accept the related legal declaration and click the Upload button to complete the submission.

Access

The highest-level Open Access version of the publication permitted under copyright regulations should be uploaded to the repository, preferably the publisher’s version or the postprint version. If required by the publishing agreement, restricted access or a publisher-mandated embargo period may be set in the system.

During the upload process, the publisher’s general self-archiving policies must also be taken into consideration.

The access level set by the author may be modified by the staff of the University Library and Archives during the library review process in the following cases:

• to public access, if the publication appeared in a fully Open Access journal or if the publisher has designated the publication as Open Access;
• to embargoed (delayed) access, if the publisher has prescribed a mandatory embargo period for the given document version.

The uploaded publication becomes visible in the repository only after this verification process has been completed.
