Welcome to the Széchenyi István University's University Library and Archives website!

The history of our library began on 1 March 1974 as a separate department of the then Transportation and Telecommunication Faculty of Technical Sciences. Over the past decades we have evolved and grown into a truly 21st century library. 

In addition to the classical core services of the library, our mission is to support competitive education and high-quality scientific research and innovation at the SZE, adapted to economic and societal needs:

• by creating a regional information and documentation knowledge centre;
• an experiential community space;
• providing user-friendly, value-added services;
• our commitment to quality;
• fostering an environmentally conscious approach;
• ensuring sustainability;
• our commitment to social responsibility;
• ensuring equal opportunities;
• recruiting the students of the future;
• working professionally, ethically, and responsibly;
• running an archive, with the aim of preserving the past of higher education in Győr and Mosonmagyaróvár.
